Poland, Spain, England and Tokyo. Her photographs have
been the subject of many publications and were awarded
several prizes.

Artist statement.
Since my very first experiments in photography, I was
fascinated by the human behaviors and its various
realities; the human desire of escaping and living in
the fantasy world.
To express this, I created atmospheres to explore the
border between reality and fantasy.
My objective as an artist is to push the boundaries of
photography through experimental methods, working with
new mediums and discovering new techniques in the
darkroom.

Project Description" Entre Quatre Murs" , Berlin (Between four walls, Berlin)

Exhibition - Nathalie Daoust

The series of three-dimensional portraits, "Entre
Quatre Murs", opens 25 windows on various imaginary
universes showing the transparency of every day life.
Nathalie Daoust photographed each person in his home,
in his everyday surroundings, capturing intimate
moments.

For this theme Nathalie Daoust has developed a new
technique of printing various elements of an image on
several separate layers of Orthochromatic paper. By
superimposing and reassembling pieces of the image,
leaving a space between each layer, the image
eventually becomes complete again, like a transparent
puzzle. The end result is many layers creating the
individual image. These images, even once printed
remain transparent, revealing the unknown, and perhaps
even an imaginary aspect of the individual.

Canadian photographer Nathalie Daoust sees more in the
human environment than a single shutter release can
capture. Daoust's approach to depth will appear in San
Antonio in an exhibit, Entre Quatre Murs (Between Four
Walls) opening First Friday, September 2 at Rendon
Photography & Fine Art, 733 S. Presa.( http://www.alrendon.com/ )

The exhibit is part of the international FotoSeptiembre festival. http://www.safotofestival.com/
