Takis
Tloupas
The
PHOTOGRAPHER of THESSALIAN PLAIN
|
In
1983 that fell in my hands his album " From the
land of people " changed the sense I had that the
Greek photography began substantially around the decade
of the 60’s, except the photographs of Nelly's and the
photographs of Spyros Meletzis. Takis Tloupas was born
in Larissa and there he lived and created his photographic
work. Son of a wood sculptor followed the profession of
his father initially, but the needs of livelihood made
him a photographer. The Photography made him ecstatic,
and from 1945 and afterwards that he had a Photography
store in Larissa, in his free time , between shoots of
marriages and printing photographs of identity cards, he
creates,
at my opinion, a unique photographic work. Without no official
financing or attribute, he photographs the Thessalian ground
and its people, the mountains of Pindos and people. His
photographs are of course one very important photographic
documentary, useful in any historical recombining of places
and people in duration of 40 years decisive for modern
Greece. It is however also artistic, creative photography
- call it as you want - with all the importance of word.
Takis Tloupas is a man of photography, and with the Greek
light he cultivates his photographic plates with a glance
do not exhaust in graphic and in the naturalism...
