The value of the photograph does not depend on the subject it depicts.
Indifferent objects seen through a special perspective are transformed
into autonomous art works, thus expressing the creator’s point of
view. On the contrary, pictures containing sections of the “wonderful
reality” are imposing and, therefore, suppress the photographer’s
presence. Breathtaking vistas, faces and bodies fade away beside
a pepper-plant (E. Weston) or a discarded cigarette butt (I. Penn). For many years I have dedicated myself to the square format. Its
balance, tranquility and harmony have been leading my synthesis
(work) to the data it offers.
My displayed work is based on these elements, depicting an object
in the center of the frame. The required features of this portfolio
include greatness of clearness, intense contrast and the characteristic
high quality of the medium format. In addition, a neutral background
has been chosen with a vivid texture, which offsets the centrally
depicted subject.
